Embedded systems
An Embedded system as a post graduate program prepares students deals with microcontroller based, software driven, reliable, real-time control system, designed to perform a specific task. It can be thought of as a computer hardware system having software embedded in it. An embedded system can be either an independent system or a part of a large system.
Embedded systems are used for safety critical systems in aerospace and defense industries. Unless connected to wired or wireless networks via on chip 3G cellular or other methods for IoT monitoring and control purposes, these systems can be isolated from hacking and thus be more secure.
The course of Embedded Systems is also a integral part of a Internet of Things (IoT), a technology in which objects, animals or people are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.
Computer Science And Engineering
Computer Engineering involves designing and testing of computer components. It is a branch of Engineering which studies elements from both electrical engineering and computer science angles, combining the principle and techniques of these two for the making and development of computer and computer-based systems. Computer engineers are a part of a team who apply their knowledge of mathematics and science for the design and development of a computer.
To facilitate students to gain practical knowledge of subjects and to carry out advanced research and development activities in the field of VLSI and Communications a state-of-the-art laboratory has been setup particularly to cater to the needs of M. Tech students.
Computer engineers have strong programming skills as they are concerned with the design and development of many types of software, including computer games, word processing and business applications, operating systems and network distribution and compilers, which convert programs to machine language for execution on a computer.
