Electrical Power Systems
M Tech (Electrical Power Systems) is a two-year full time programme. An important branch of Electrical Engineering, Power Systems deals with issues at the intersection of Electric Power, Economics and Management of Power and provides professional knowledge in Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution, and Power Equipment.
The students can specialize in a range of subjects including Energy Management Systems thathols immense potential in the future global scenarios where efficient use of power comes to centre-stage.
In tune with the latest advancements, the labs use state-of-the-art equipment to impart practical training.

Electrical machines & Power Systems Lab
This is a well-equipped lab possessing a host of machines such as DC Motors, DC Generators, Different Alternators, Synchronous Motors, Transformers and FHP Machines. The lab also has various types of test equipment like CT ’s, PT’s, MC and MI type measuring instruments, and special equipment like relay, sphere gap, rod gap, tong tester etc.
This lab caters to the Departments of ECE, CSE, IT and MECH besides facilitating its own departmental requirements.
Electrical Systems Simulation Lab
Equipped with independent latest Computer Systems and Software like P- spice and MATLAB in addition to Power System Software Modules. This lab has the capacity of conducting in-house projects. The research activities of the staff are also encouraged.
Power electronic circuits are now-a-days essential for both consumer and industrial electronics products. At the low power end, these may include switched-mode regulated power supplies for hand-held devices, TVs, light fittings, computers and other entertainment systems. At the high power end, there are diverse industrial applications in high voltage DC transmission, grid connections for wind generators and PV systems, Power supplies for telecommunication equipment, welding, furnaces, and smelting.
With advent of power semiconductor devices, a revolution has hit the world of Power Transmission, Distribution and Utilization. The courses offered by this department introduces the concepts of advanced power semiconductor devices, various power converters and their analysis, power electronic applications to DC/AC Drives Control and Operation and Control of Power Systems.
In addition, the labs are well equipped with state-of-the-art equipment obtained from quality manufacturers, to help students gain practical knowledge.

Power Converters Lab
A well-developed lab with equipment like Converterssuch as Rectifiers, Inverters,Choppers, Dual Converters and Cyclo-Converters which are used to control the various drives i.e., PMDC Motor, InductionMotor, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor etc.

Electronics & Communication Engineering
Electronic Communications Engineering programs prepare students to use mathematics and science to design electronic systems and new ways of using electronics to communicate. With a degree in Electronic Communications Engineering, the students look forward to work as an Electronics Communications Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Electronics Engineer.
Electronics & Communication Engineers are responsible for a wide range of technologies, from portable music players to the Global Positioning System (GPS), which can continously provide the location.
The course develops specialist knowledge and skills in modern communications systems including modern signal processing and advanced topics in communications.
This course aims to provide a comprehensive education at par with excellence in the area of Information and Communication, with well qualified professors having decades of experience in the field of teaching and industry. Under this PG Course latest technologies like wireless communication networks, advanced digital signal processing, low power VLSI design, Network Security and Cryptography, Image and Video processing etc. are covered.

Computer Science And Engineering
Computer Engineering involves designing and testing of computer components. It is a branch of Engineering which studies elements from both electrical engineering and computer science angles, combining the principle and techniques of these two for the making and development of computer and computer-based systems. Computer engineers are a part of a team who apply their knowledge of mathematics and science for the design and development of a computer.
To facilitate students to gain practical knowledge of subjects and to carry out advanced research and development activities in the field of VLSI and Communications a state-of-the-art laboratory has been setup particularly to cater to the needs of M. Tech students.
Computer engineers have strong programming skills as they are concerned with the design and development of many types of software, including computer games, word processing and business applications, operating systems and network distribution and compilers, which convert programs to machine language for execution on a computer.
